Tools For Vaccine Access

With the rapid spread of the delta variant of the virus, it has never been more important to get vaccinated. The delta variant is more contagious, more likely to cause severe illness, more likely to reinfect someone who already had COVID-19 and more likely to infect young people.

Vaccine Appointment Help!

UPDATE : we have quite a few volunteers, which is great! So feel free to send over more seniors. We likely won’t be needing more volunteers in the short term.  If you know a senior on Staten Island unable to book an appointment. Please call me at 718-984-5151, & we will assign a volunteer who can plug away. Or click the link in this story. Thankfully, we have had a nice handful of people sign up to volunteer time and they will start getting their lists this morning.  As of today, we have about 75 people on our list awaiting a vaccine. This wont be a perfect system, but we have to try.

To volunteer to help other get a vaccine appt or to sign up for help getting an appt, click the form here.

And Staten Island Advance article on this effort.

Vaccine Finders!

Here is a list of resources to help find vaccine appointments:

💉 TurboVax - shows the latest vaccine appointments from 42 city and state-run administration sites in the NYC area.

https://www.turbovax.info/

💉 NYC Vaccine List - a volunteer-led effort to help you find a vaccine appointment (not Staten Island specific, but throughout the 5 boros)

https://nycvaccinelist.com/

💉 Turbovax - a bot that scans for vaccine appointments and tweets when they are located. This is on Twitter, and worthwhile to make a Twitter account if you don't have one, and turn notifications on. Immediate action when they tweet will be necessary.

https://twitter.com/turbovax?s=09

💉 Dr. B - This is a standby list that connects patients needing the COVID-19 vaccine with healthcare providers needing to administer vaccines before they expire. Patients should first attempt to sign up for the COVID-19 vaccine directly with healthcare providers as those may be available earlier. Dr. B. is an independent public benefit corporation.

💉 Vaccination Standby List - Their goal is to reduce COVID vaccine waste and misinformation of leftovers, and allow as many people as possible to take advantage of any leftover doses. You will visit the site and they will text you.
