10,000-call initiative is being led by Richmond County Medical Society (RCMS), in partnership with Staten Island Borough President’s Office and Community Health Action of Staten Island (CHASI). Similar projects have been supported by the New York Chapter of the American College of Physicians on a statewide basis.
Social isolation is a tremendous psychological issue for our patients especially the elderly.
If your office staff has the time, we are asking each practice to call their over 65-year-old or vulnerable patients and periodically check up on them during this crisis.
If you identify a need like food, medication delivery or a behavioral health issue, we will have one of our community organizations reach out to your patients. Patients trust their doctors and will accept calls.
Thank you for everything you do and are doing during this crisis.
